Q. Who is BasicCity?

BasicCity is a Kenyan-South African musical duo that was birthed from our similar musical taste, work ethic and love for all things sound.
We came together in 2021 after a spur-of-the-moment decision where we wanted to find out how much we could accomplish musically if we brought our strengths together.

Our music is largely hip-hop based, though we also incorporate a variety of other genres such as indie, jazz and RnB into our sound.
Our unique brand of entertainment fuses clever cadences and bars that are catchy, up-beat and all-round enjoyable. We seek to consistently grow and push the boundaries of our music to establish how best to improve on our art, and give you a good show while at it as well!  

Performing with a live band, BasicCity is progressively changing the way people enjoy music, bringing something refreshingly different to the table with each new release. With easy relatability, entertaining banter and engaging stage presence, we are a worthwhile investment for any audience that is angling for crowd-pulling performances.
